Drawing from my background in clinical social work, dance/movement therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and psychoanalytic psychotherapy I use a personalized, integrative approach to help people overcome obstacles to leading richer, more satisfying, and more meaningful lives. As a former dancer, teacher and choreographer, I led classes and workshops to help people find and express their most authentic selves. I bring that same sense of improvisation and creativity in helping people break out of self-defeating patterns, find their passions and live more expansively.
In addition to my Social Work degree, I have a Masters degree in Dance Therapy and completed my post-Master's training at the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center. Most of my clients work verbally, but in some cases we supplement this work with a more body-oriented, experiential approach to overcome blocks.
I believe that for therapy to be most helpful, clients must feel comfortable in the relationship with their therapist. I provide a caring atmosphere which is warm, non-judgmental, and supportive so that people can feel safe to say whatever they need to.
